My wife booked a hotel room at the Hyatt for $100 expecting the lowest price using hotels.com and with their "Hotels.com Price Match Guarantee" felt very happy with herself.

"Were so convinced our prices cant be beat, well guarantee it. If you find a lower rate for your hotel on another site just let us know and we'll refund the difference to you, or help you cancel your booking. It's that easy."

I was not sure so went to the Hyatt web site who offered the same room & same date for $69.

I immediately called and e-mailed and completed the refund form.

Their reply was Thank you for taking the time to contact Hotels.com Customer Service regarding your Price Match request on your reservation under itinerary number xxxxxxxxx. We regret to inform you that we are unable to process price match on your reservation because it is non refundable. The Hyatt policy is to hold the booking.

Aslo why was Hotels.com charging a 33% premium on a room rate in the first place ?

My wife was in tears and felt robbed.
