Hotwire.com Expedia.com Scandalous interpretation of location San Francisco, California
I wanted to book a hotel on Ft. Myers Beach, FL for June 16th, 2012. I looked through the options and all they had was one hotel for Ft. Myers Beach, so I chose it. The thing is, every hotel on Ft. Myers Beach is in one location, at the north end. Every hotel except for the Holiday Inn, which is about 4 miles south of where I wanted to be.
Come to find out, the Holiday Inn is not technically on Ft. Myers Beach, it's actually on a part called "Estero Island", which is at the other end of where I wanted to be. (Please review page 3 of official records, deed paperwork for said property, indicating that it is on Estero Island and not Ft. Myers Beach, FL - http://apps.leeclerk.org/OR/showdetails.aspx?Book=2563&Page=3452&BookType=O) I've fought adamantly with Hotwire, to no avail, I imagine the next step will be a class action suit. I'd hate to waste my law degree on something so trivial and easy to correct, but Hotwire needs to be taught a lesson.
