July 2004, I had purchased two air tickets from Hotwire departing from St. Louis to Atlanta. Hotwire charged me 500 and gave me tickets in the reverse order departing from Atlanta to St. Louis instead. Upon calling them they said that the tickets were non refundable and no cancellations were to be allowed. To correct their mistakes they gave me the correct tickets this time and then charged me another 500 totalling 1000 dollars charge on my Visa credit card.

I called my Bank of America Visa card and they said for me to stop using my credit card and refunded my 1000 dollars. After two months they charged me 500 dollars telling me that Hotwire rebutted. I calling my credit services and they told me to send them proof and I did so but they failed to recieve it. So months later i again FAXED the confirmations sent by Hotwire. Its been 9 months now and I'm still fighting with my credit card company. Every time i call them they say they have not looked at it yet.

Hotwire is a fraudulent company and Bank of America Visa Credit Card services fail to care about their customers.

I'm a former employee of Hotwire.
The fact that you purchased the tickets the wrong way the first time, isn't really the problem. The problem is the credit card company.
When you make a large purchase such as the one you made with hotwire, the credit card company puts a hold on the authorization for the amount you chose. When they rebooked you, it sounds like they refunded you the first tickets (which they didn't need to do mind you) and rebooked you the correct flight.
Well, the credit card companies don't release authorization holds for a couple of days.
Which is why you were being charged $500 and not $1000.
The first flight was cancelled and was in the process of being refunded. The second purchase, of $500 was agreed to by you, and therefore it most likely will not be refunded to you.
