After looking around at local carpet and floor companies, I chose a local, small company that had been in my city for quite a few years. I didn't choose based on the price, because I am a firm believer in customer service, and prefer to pay more for the security of knowing if a problem arises it will be met with some form of satisfaction. Not so with the House of Andrea and the owner Arthur Day. My mother and I spent several days in a store not much bigger than our living and parlor rooms combined, picking out wall to wall carpeting for 5 rooms, 2 kitchen floors and tiles for one bath.  First problem arose when the installers put back the appliances and made several tares in the floors. We were guaranteed seamless patches, WRONG. The repairs lifted and tore a few weeks later. The wall to wall has lifted, rolled and has caused people to literally trip the wrinkles in some spots go from end to end. Of course I called as each problem arose. Mr. Day took weeks to return my calls and when he finally sent his first man here the gentleman agreed it was done wrong and he would let his boss know. Well no one called for several months so finally he sent a second person, his son in law...again this young man agreed sloppy installation. Nothing...third man came ect. ect. due to poor health and several hospitalizations a couple of years later and a report to BBB Mr. Day himself makes an appearance. Final outcome is No resolution for the carpet, bathroom tiles that were broken and patched were replaced with me paying again for a new sub floor and much lesser quality replacement tiles{I was given a choice of 3} and a vinyl kitchen floor that is used throughout housing projects where cheap is the buzz word. Most enlightening was His business policy which I quote "I didn't do the work so I am not responsible for the work my employees do" I never thought to ask an owner of a company if he sends his employees with his products in his company truck if HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP. Mr. Day even went as far as to stop the re=installed kitchen floor to have my son sign a document under duress of leaving us stranded with the gas shut off and a half done sub floor stating he was satisfied with the results. Now not only was my son not involved financially with this co. he also had nothing to do with contracting their services. What my son did know was that living on a disability check as I do I could not afford to hire a plumber again for gas shut offs and ons and toilets being put back for the third time.  So to those who live in Lynn and want to support the smaller businesses, beware, Arthur, of House of Andrea is small, his ethics are small, his service is small, but his prices are BIG and you do not get what you pay for. And if you want a reference I will gladly show anyone thinking of using this co. pictures or an onsite look at the quality or should I say lack of flooring I paid through the nose for.

I just reviewed what I hastily wrote today concerning my dealings with House of Andrea. I want to apologize for the rambling and let you know the gist of my story is, my home is left with carpet wrinkles, lifted and ugly tares on a vinyl floor, ceramic tiles with poor grouting. And if it is not clear, what I am trying to relate is that after putting out hard earned money, I daily live in a home that instead of the pride I used to hold in my heart I now have anger and disappointment. Right now I have no means of resolving my dilemma but I am feeling a fraction of relief to think that maybe someone will read past my emotions and not have to walk in my shoes {or on my poor floors} Thank you for allowing a consumer a means of letting other buyers Beware!
