I ordered a dress that was to be shipped to me in 3 weeks or less. House of Brides took my payment immediately. I was to receive a confirmation in 7-10 days. I called customer service on the 10th day and spoke to Helen. She said she would call me back and did not. I called back and spoke to Susan--she said she would contact the warehouse. I was to call them back next week.

Next week came and I called and stated it has been 14 days and you guaranteed me immediate delivery --at my door in 3 weeks or less. Where is my confirmation on shipping date. Helen again stated that she would, "Contact the warehouse and get back to me." She then hung up on me! She did not get back to me so I called again. This time I spoke to Gaye. She said, "Call back in 3 days." I stated, "3 days!!! You guaranteed me 3 weeks or less when I ordered, how will I have my dress at my door this weekend." She stated, "There is nothing more I can do for you." I asked to speak to the warehouse myself. She said, "I cannot do that." I asked to speak to a manager she replied again, "Call back in 3 days, there is nothing more I can do for you." I replied, "Tell me if you have my dress or not. I don't want to buy one and then have two (since dress companies do not take returns)." She sat quiet and said nothing. I then asked for a refund so I can buy another dress immediately. She stated AGAIN, "There is nothing I can do for you, I am going to hang up now." And she did just that!

I looked them up on Better Business Bureau and the complaints are numerous and appalling. How can they still be open? I see that their Corporation Agent (Lawyer) is Kevin M. Carrara 300 E. RooseveltRd. STE 300 Wheaton IL 60187 You will need this info for court--ask me how I know.

Shame --shame--shame they are allowed to ruin people's special day and not get shut down. Customer service is a joke- Terms and conditions guarantee 7-10 days--which has passed and they act like I am the inconvenience. We will see if I have the dress for my corporate event. I will update to let you know if they did come through with my dress or if Mr. Carrara was served his papers.

I would like to say that my dress was finally shipped. I did get it yeah!! I am so happy. I did not want to be upset with HOB I just wanted my dress. They did come through. I just got off the phone with them. It was shipped and USPS has it. Although, I did argue with the lady that they had not shipped it. It was the first time I was told the truth-so forgive me for not believing it. I was prepared to sue, had representation, and all my documents in order. Really I did not want to take them to court--what a headache that would have been. So I was so excited when USPS stated it was shipped. I would like to say THANK YOU HOB for delivering my dress. But I have never dealt with such terrible customer service in my life. Gaye was just rude and unhelpful. She refused to answer any questions. Helen got me upset each time I spoke to her, but at least she answered some of my questions. So they did not get back to me in the 7-10 business days-which is stated in their terms and conditions. I had to pay for many phone calls to get my dress, but it is coming! I do not feel I was ripped off because I am getting a dress, but I do feel violated. I just can't get over how someone in customer service can treat me that way. I am sorry for everyone else who did not get their dresses. I will not purchase a dress from them again because of the one particular person I hated speaking to in customer service. But I will not pursue them ripping me off because I do not feel now that they have. It should make it to my house before I need it Saturday!! SO happy--doing a dance.

I did find out from HOB that my dress has not been shipped, so they will obviously miss the deadline for my dress. I have done everything I can to work with them peacefully. My story is the same as everyone's here. We were all scammed and led into believing the dress was coming etc. I would love to write more details about every conversation etc. as I took EXTENSIVE notes during each conversation.

I can actually quote customer service verbatim. Yes, I had to keep stopping conversation to write, but it was worth it. If it wasn't such a scam it would actually be humorous the things that customer service said to me. They actually believe they are covered from all responsibilities due to their terms and conditions sections.

Well I know better. I am not going to speak about details as I was advised not to by representation. Those of you who were scammed or know people who were please write or tell your friends to write on this website. We need to be heard.

To all the rest of you I hope you paid them with a credit card. You need to call your credit card company and dispute the charges. You will get your money back from the credit card company and let the credit card company deal with HOB. ---If they say your dress is coming and giving you many excuses it is because they don't have it for whatever reason. Run to another dress shop pronto because it's not coming!!!! Then call to credit card dispute charges to cancel order.

I forgot to mention that above that the conversations between customer support and I were much more detailed then stated above. I tried to only quote them above on important details to get to the point.
