my horrific experience with House of Brides in Schaumburg, Illinois has me thinking it should be called house of terrors. I have already dealt with the manager of the store and she has done nothing to aid in the situation.

It first started when my bridesmaids were told to lose weight before the wedding to fit in the dresses ordered. One bridesmaid currently wears a size 2. They ordered her a 12 and told her to work on her stomach. Another one was told to lose weight so she could fit into a smaller size. I was appalled by this behavior and called the manager to speak to her. After several attempts and messages left my phone calls were never returned. I was completely avoided.

Yesterday, I went to the store to pick up the bridesmaids' dresses. One of the dresses were in the wrong color! I asked to speak to the manager and she refused. My sister attempted to call the store to speak to the manager and she was put on hold. The call was not picked up. After several attempts to speak to the manager I finally said I would not leave the store until this matter was resolved.

I was sent into a back room where the manager sat in her desk and did NOTHING to aid in this situation. I told her about my past experience and my efforts to contact her and she said she was busy. Never was an apology even offered for this mistake. She told me she could not make any promises and would call me today.

My wedding is set for June 9th. I do not want to take further actions in this event. I want my correct dress that was ordered and alterations to be paid for since they ordered the wrong size.

As a manager, this woman has no people skills. She should have dealt with the situation immediately. When I left her office she asked my fianc if I was his fianc and then proceeded to tell him Good Luck.

This is totally inappropriate and something needs to be done about this situation. Her managerial skills are pathetic and she is a disgrace to the company's name.

Hi--i've had similar problems with HOB, and i'd strongly encourage you to file a report with the Better Business bureau. I checked yesterday (10-21-07) and found that the Glen Ellyn store alone has already recieved 122 complaints through the BBB.

I know it's time consuming, but if you truly feel wronged, filing a report could help HOB stop hurting other customers in the future. Please consider it :-)
