Household Auto Finance - HSBC - HAF ripoff, incompetent, not customer driven Carol Stream Illinois
Household Auto Finance has been my worst nightmare. Back in August they misposted my auto payment for the incorrect amount. They then proceeded to call me from their collection offices in India stating that I had not made my payment.
When I indicated to them that I had and it had cleared my bank, they asked ME to prove it. I faxed them all of my bank paperwork showing the check had cleared and they continued with the collection calls.
This continued for 3 months, during which time, every time I made my current payment, they posted it to the previous month, which resulted in their reporting me to the credit bureau, which I had to fight to get off of my report.
I was harrassed at my home every evening, including Sunday's and holidays. Every time I explained the situation, they claimed it would be fixed, but it wasn't. I tried numerous times to contact them and get in touch with one customer service representative who would investigate and handle the problem from beginning to end. I was told they do not do that.
I thought I was a customer and I do not believe that because someone is not paying attention in their office and misposts my payment, I should be the one who is treated as incompetent. I never got an apology for THEIR mistake.
