Complaint Review: Household Bank Aka Orchard Bank

My husband was given a credit card for Household Bank. When an emergency came up, we used it to do some necessary repairs at home. We paid on it, on time every month until we started to notice that they were holding the checks til they accrued a" late payment fee" which raised our interest and added an extra charge to the card and made it "Late" every month and added an over the limit fee every month. He still continued to pay on it till he noticed an added iknsurance fee. He called them and told them he had never asked or wanted insurance. They claimed that Mrs. MacKay (me) had asked for it on line. My name was not on the credit card so therefore I could not add any insurance. He spoke to them and told them this and they then said that I had OK'd the insurance on the phone. (Even though I still was NOT on the credit card and was not able to or had done so.)So now a 1,000 dollar loan has grown to over 3000+

I have been on the web and see that there are many people who have had this same problem with this credit company. I also have on CD here a copy of all their statements and we have copies of our checks and when they were sent.It would take some time to gather it all together, but if that is what is needed, we will do so.

Now we understand that there is a judgment against my husband at the Local County Court House, which they claim he signed for- He did NOT sign for anything. Supposedly placed by Atlantic Credit Agency or Gordon, Weinberg and Rose attys

This is a terrible thing to allow this kind of usery to go on- especially against people who are retired and disabled. But unfortunately, we are NOT "Illegal Immigrants" so we have to be put through this instead of having it all handed to us after we have worked all our adult lives to pay taxes and Social Security, then have someone try to defraud us in this manner.
