I found your site by following up information of Household bank and its many familys. I have read of one abuse after another about this company ie Predatory Lending and the targating of Elderly. It is in this last catagory that I take issue with their business practices.

They have been billing and calling my elderly mother over a card she never used. It is still on the same cardboard that it was sent to her on. She told them she didn't need or want their card with a $300.00 credit line. To boot, after their charges come off you get the card and it dosen't even have a $300.00 credit line. You wouldn't be able to put gas in your car or do very much before it would be over limit. In telling them to cancle the card, they informed her it was allready canceled for lack of payment. "Go Figure"

They kept calling and harrasing my mother untill they agreed to settle for $137.?? (not sure on the change. The calls went away and everything was great for sixty days. It was about two months later that they again started calling. So despite the card that she never used being canceled and paid off, they want more blood for nothing. Being unable to resolve this issue, fighting with them is the only option.

They call us three time a day on average and every call they make I contact three parties on the net. Perhaps some day it will all add up. It has for me for just a taste of what this business is like. You can also go to www.banking.com/ama/householdname.asp I am truly apalled that a bank can't compeat with other banks in a normal was, that it has to go after the elderly.
