HouseValues.com Fraudulent Practices, ripoff Kirkland Washington
HouseValues.com sells a service to realtors whereby they provide leads for people who are interested in purchasing homes. These leads are to be from a specific area (3 leads/month from McLean, VA in our case). I subscribed to this service in September, 2005.
To date I have received the 3 leads/month, however they have been from areas other than McLean, VA and what is worse, many of them have been bogus, meaning the information in the lead is false. This is due to the fact that HouseValues.com does not vet these leads by ensuring that the e-mail used by the sender is valid before passing the lead onto subscribers. About half of the leads I have received to date are from nonexistent e-mail addresses, phone numbers and/or street addresses.
I contacted HouseValues.com and asked to cancel my contract, however they have refused. I believe the actions of HouseValues.com constitute fraud. We have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission as well.
