They have always been extremely slow, inconsiderate of our time, and have on occasion just not answered maintenance requests.

At the moment, our refrigerator is out.  We submitted a maintenance request 48 hours ago and no one has contacted us or come to the house for something as urgent as that.  We have called the office 6 times and all they can say is that the request has been submitted and they don't have any other information for us.  There is also no way to contact the owners or submit a formal complaint. Before you rent a Housing Hub property, consider the below occurrences, which are very typical with their maintenance department, office, and company as a whole.

1. When we moved in, the grass had not been mowed all summer, there was tons of garbage, broken windows, bricks, etc. in the yard that they assured us would be taken care of before we moved in. A week after we were living there, they sent someone with a weed-whacker.  Needless to say, that did not mow the lawn or clean up the dumpster full of crap left in the yard.

2. Our basement flooded the first week we moved in because they did not replace the storm gutter cover as they said they would before we moved in.  I had to stay home for work to watch the situation, dry off all our stuff, and wait for maintenance to come fix the damage because of their negligence.  After flooding in a finished basement, they did not come for 48 hours.  By that point we had just cleaned up the mess ourselves. They then replaced the storm gutter after the fact and after our inconvenience, without any apology.

3. Our garbage disposal broke and went off on it's own in the middle of the night.  This clearly was not our fault. They charged us for fixing it and the parts even thought it was not due to misuse.  We don't own the house or any appliance in it so we shouldn't be paying for things that break. They have tried to charge us for multiple other things, so we just went without having them fixed and deal without it since it's not our responsibility.

4. On three occasions, we were gone when maintenance came. We could only tell they were there by the mud tracks creating a trail around the house.  I mean med tracks.  I had to take the time to clean our dark wood floors again after each occurrence.  I called the office every time to leave a complaint.  They said they would relay it to the owner every time, and we never heard a word from them to this day.  They have said they would reach out to us every time we have had an issue and complained about it, and they never have.  When I call the office for updates, they have even said that according to my account, they have sent an email to us.  I never received any email in any folder of my inbox. It has been 2 years of these negative interactions.

5. There are cracks in our basement wall that cause condensation and leakage into our basement every time it rains.  Maintenance has been here for it at least 5 times, and they have not fixed it.  There are also no visible signs they have tried to fix it.  They just leave a note saying it looked fine.  This is probably because they come 24-48 hours after the leakage has stopped and it has been cleaned up.

6. We've asked for a 2nd garage door opener 3 times now, and even offered to pay for it.  I haven't heard a word back from anyone yet regarding this.

7.  We were having drain issues in our bath tub. Someone came, fixed it, and we were later charged $100 for it.  Their reasoning was that there was hair in the drain so it was our fault.  I called the office to contest the charge and they said if I did not pay it that day, there would be a late fee.  I couldn't talk to anyone higher up.

Clearly, Housing Hub is a careless, unorganized, poorly managed company that I would NOT advise getting into a contract with.
