Complaint Review: Houston Marriott Westchase

This morning, our e-mail contained a message from Marriott Hotels & Resorts Reservations with the subject of "Houston Marriott Westchase".  The message was addressed to our e-mail address and contained a confirmation number, check-in, check-out and the "traveler's name".  The reservation was for three days and the charge was in excess of $400.00.  I double-checked the phone number and the fax for the Marriott Westchase and the numbers apear to match. 

We called directly to Marriott and the operator said on the first shift this morming, she had fielded at least 25 calls like ours.  The operator said the confirmation number was fraudulent. She said to delete the message and the trash to get the message out of our system.  My guess is, somehow whoever is sending the messages is phishing for credit card information, etc.
