Complaint Review: Howard Johnson

We checked in and left. When we got back the room was infested with ants (walls completely black) and we noticed all of the furniture was pulled back 6" from the wall from cleaning them earlier. We contacted the front desk and they had us switch rooms. We put everything in this rooms and discovered 4 of the 5 lights DID NOT WORK, there were more ants crawling around the room and the phone was DEAD.

We went to the front desk and asked for a refund as we would not be staying. The man refused and became irrate we called the corporate office while the employee at the desk SCREAMED at us. The Corporate Office was not interested in helping or resolving the situation and told us to call back the next day.

We called the police as the man became hostile and we still felt we were entitled to our money. The police could not BELIEVE the situation but said there was nothing they could do. We left and DID NOT STAY the night.

We've done everything we can to get a refund but the Corporate Office says that this location is Owner Run & Operated and doesn't need to follow their franchise guidelines. PLEASE DON'T THINK ABOUT STAYING AT THIS LOCATION, and you're probably better off not staying at any HoJo.
