We ordered a Bowflex in March of 2001 that was financed by HRS. The bowflex arrived in late April. We did not receive our first bill until late June, which we promptly called about because there was a late fee attached!!! We paid our first payment on June 26, but our due date was May 20. When I called to complain I was treated like a liar and a criminal. They told me they would not remove the late fee, and further, they reported a thirty day late to the credit reporting agency.

This was our very first experience with HRS; they have turned out to be very unfriendly and unsupportive. When I recently called to get the thirty day late removed from my credit and I explained that 70,000 pieces of mail were lost that April in Denver, the lady told me I had to get a letter from the Post Office and submit it to their research department. I asked if it would be removed from my credit then, and she told me no, they would just make a note of it. Very unfair and fraudulent.

This company should be turned in to the FTC and the Californa State Banking board or whoever regulates them. It is unfair that we are being made to suffer damage to our credit because of something that was out of our control.
