While on vacation I recieved my statement. Then I learned that my check had been returned by my bank, the error was mine. I called HRS USA on 02-04-2002, was told my check was never cashed and my bank had it. On 02-06-2002 I talked to my bank, the check was still with HRS USA. After that I called HRS USA back, got another rep that was as rood and short as the first. He said that they did have my check but checks for over $1000 cannot be sent through twice. I ask for his supervisor, he told me thats checks over $1500 couldn't go through twice. If I paid it off tonight, over the phone, he would knock off half the interest applied and it would cost me $10 for this service. I am calling back tomorrow and talking to a manager since there were none available at the time. None of the reps I talked to were friendly. All they wanted to do was quote company policy and confirm that I understood when the payment was due before they would charge me another interest fee. I wrote them a check for $3606.32 and they have been holding since 12-14-2001. No one contacted me to let me know where my check was, or that my account was not paid. My contract deadline was 12-28-2001. If they would have notified me I could have written another check. Instead, they waited until the next statement of 01-15-2002 to let me know something was not working. It is my opinion this is a scam on HRS USA's part.
