I had been a costco member for over 15 years. Approximately a year ago, I went in and changed my Executive card in for a basic card.  When asked, the customer svs man at the desk said the credit card account would be closed at the time, as well. 

More recently, my basic card annual fee was due.  I decied to cancel the account.  I had trouble doing this on-line, and missed the due date.  I got a bill from HRScostco, which was suppose to have been closed a year prior.  I take the bill in and the customer svs manager "took care of it." I specifically asked if that included the HRS crredit line, and she said yes. 

Shortly afterward, I got another collections notice from HRScostco. I went in, again, spoke with the manager, and she said for some reason, the changes did not 'take' last time in the computer.  She "fixed it," including the credit line.  A relative of mine went to refinance her home, and, being on the card, she got a higher rate, due to a derogatory "from costco."  A review of Ripoff Report, shows I'm not alone in my plight.  How about a very public class-action suit?
