HSBC Auto Harrassment Ripoff San Diego California
This financing organization has to be the most unorganized company on earth. We refinanced our vehicle through HSBC auto after receiving an offer in the mail and it's been a nightmare from day one.
The very next day after being approved for the financing and faxing them all of our information, they contacted us again to have the information resent because they "never received it". Things happen so we gladly re-sent our information. To make a long story short, they continued to call us and send us letters asking for the information that we had already given them before. Let me inform you that these letters were not friendly reminders, they were threats to reposess the car (a car that had just been refinanced several weeks before).
After sending via mail and faxing several more times, they again started contacting us with threatening letters that we were in violation of the contract for financing because of missing information. This new missing information was the mileage on the vehilce from which was alreayd given to them so many times we've lost track. Since they would not take the mileage over the phone, we had to resend the information by just writing it on a piece of paper with our signatures. Needless to say, they continued to harrass us at work, on our cells, and at home about the mileage we reported several times but they say they never received.
Moving on, after that was taken care of many months into the future, we reported our new address where we built a home. Again, it was another nightmare attempted to force them to report the correct address on the account. Call after call and letter after letter informing them of our new address, they continued to not update it. Each time we would call to make a payment, they would dispute the address on the account because they had our old ones even though we had changed it to the new on many times before. Nightmare!
Moving on, one month we were three days late on our car payment because we had been on vacation and guess what? They harrassed us again at our work, on our cells, and at home. Who on earth has ever heard of a bank that starts collection calls three days after a payment is due? Anyone? Ridiculous.
Again, let us move on. Tired of the disorganization and lack of communication between the departments of HSBC auto, we re-financed through a local bank one week ago a day before our next auto payment was due. Our new bank called HSBC auto while present to get the payoff and to notify them of the refinancing. Guess what? We've been harrassed every day since the refinancing by HSBC collectors. They called three time today (Mothers Day) already!
We've again notified the harrassers that we refinanced and how we were present during the phone conversation between our new bank and HSBC auto. Not suprisingly, they had no record of the call or payment on file. They stated they would continue with collections practices until we made our current payment. They were rude, unprofessional, unorganized, incapable of updating information, and their behavior would merit an award from Hitler if he were still alive.
Our nightmare still isn't over as even though they have the payment from our new bank, it still doesn't show on their records. I suggest that if people do not want experience what we've experienced, stay away from HSBC auto.
We will never do business with them again and will inform others of our experience.
