I recently refinanced my home to consolidate down to one payment. The amount of paperwork that we had to sign was astounding. I have owned 5 homes over the past 25+ years and had aprox. 13 loans with various mortgage companies, but I have never had the runaround like this before.HSBC Mortgage bought my loan from another company that bought my loan from the first one,(all in a matter of just 6 weeks)!I had never heard of HSBC and now wish I never had. I have been on the phone for countless hours trying to get matters resolved. The escrow account is screwed up. They use fuzzy math and double talk to try and explain why I am being charged about $100.00 per month extra on my escrow. When I explained that my insurance co reduced my yearly premium from $1400.00+ down to $649.00 they told me to fax them a copy. We did that the same day as well as mailed a hard copy. That was two weeks ago and they said that it would take two weeks to go through their research dept. I called back today (took me over two hours to speak to a live person actually in this country, not India)and they said that indeed the info had been recieved and that it would take 15 days to go through research dept. I told her that I already waited that long and if it showed on her computer then why was I having to wait again? her answer ofcourse was that she did not know and that there was no way of calling that dept because they did not have a phone and could not be bothered as they were extremely busy. I am only a customer and I guess I don't rate a phone call. I am guessing that when they finally get it figured out,it will be wrong! I also sent my first payment (due on 3-1-06) in the middle of Feb. you guessed right, they lost it. Oh they cashed it alright because i have the cancelled check to prove it. apparently, the check was processed by Mr. automatic computer in Wisconsin and is a locked box which no human being can ever be granted access to. So now it is mid April and they still do not have that problem resolved. I am now waiting to see derogatory credit info pop up on my file. By the way I had to go to the bank, get the copy of the canceled check fax that to them and then call to make sure they got it. A week later I received a letter saying that their own notorious research dept. was checking into this matter and would let me know of their findings as to wheather or not i was guilty or innocent. Customer service at this company is a joke. I have never been so angry for so long at one company. I would never recommend HSBC if they were the last mortgage co.on the face of the planet!!! I feel like Jackie Lamanchek of Great Northern Insurance Co. on that movie about the run around all the employees were directed to give anyone with a claim. I felt at one point like i was going postal. But then I remember the words that Hadji said to me on the phone: I do understand you Mr. Jigglle or uh jaylle oruh gogjjillee.

get an attorney

dude
here is an easy way to fix the problem.

get a friendly attorney who wont charge u much to send a certified letter to the servicing company for HSBC.

in the letter state have your attorny indicate there has been damages done to you from probative actions within their organization. Such as screwing up your escrow and 'losing' your payment-which if not corrected immediately, will result in litigation.

see if that doesnt change their tune in a huge hurry.

If it doesnt, have your attorney go file the action in court and appoint an arbirtator to oversee the matter.
