HSN Credit Card GE Caputal ripoff - a 1 cent difference in the payoff amount has led to an 85.00 balance in 2 years with negative impact to my credit report Ft Lauderdale Florida

I paid off my HSN credit card in full when it was owned (or managed) by Monarch Bank - I received a statement after the payoff with a one cent balance. I called customer service and they said they would take care of it.

A year later I started getting calls from collection agaency for 40+ dollars - the account was now owned by GE capital - I could not get a phone number or physical address for GE - 5 more agencies have had this account - 2+ years later is shows a balance of 80 dollars - GE capital no longer manages the credit card - I refuse to pay what I do not owe - this is having a negative impact on my credit score - I do not not how to get any information on who owns the account - HSN will not assist - huge rip-off with no end!
