Http://www.looktours.com/ Falsely advertised tour, still doing so. Failed to follow up complaint. Internet
I wish to make a complaint concerning http://www.looktours.com/ website and their false advertising.
I booked the Grand Canyon South Rim Hoover Dam Air Flight & Land Tour after being impressed with what their website promised.
(extract taken from their website)
http://www.looktours.com/air1.html
Their website promised:
Grand Canyon South Rim - Hoover Dam
Air Flight & Land Tour
Comfortable 18 passenger air conditioned airplanes
Window seat views for everybody (All window seats)
For best views. Other companies can't do this
Larger untinted view windows
For true color photos
Multi Lingual Tour Narration System
For a clear headset audio explanation of the Grand Canyon points of interest
What we actually got was a 30-seater plane with small windows, with single row on one side and two rows of seating on the other side, so people sitting in the aisle seats could see nothing through these small windows.
We booked the tour through http://www.looktours.com/ as they said we would see the Hoover Dam en route to the Grand Canyon, but the plane never went over the Hoover Dam.
On complaining to the plane operator Vision Air, we were told http://www.looktours.com/ should never have advertised that type of plane, as they do not have planes with the large windows they promised.
We did not have headsets with audio explanation of the Grand Canyon points of interest.
In short, we were ripped off and lied to. Looktours advertised a service which they knew they could not give.
As they are still advertising the same tour, something should be done to stop this kind of false advertising.
Although they initially responded to my complaint, telling me they would report back to me after 21 business days with a resolution, they have failed to do so, even ignoring my emails and a telephone call.

The sound of silence from Looktours is deafening!

Since my last report that Looktours had offered us $35 each as a final offer, nothing has been heard from them. No money has materialised, no communication from them - just silence.
Their website is still advertising the same lies, and people are still getting ripped off! Isn't there a law against false advertising? Why are they allowed to get away with it?

so tell them to take that $35 offer and shove it where the sun dont shine ,and come up with the full refund.
This only shows how uncaring and unprofessional they are. Now everyone knows what kind of business people they are.

We (4 of us) have been offered a refund of $35 dollars each (a final offer), but must agree to remove our report from this website.
Whilst we are not happy with this offer, we will however accept it.
Meanwhile, their website still advertises the same planes for the tour.

Frances,
We do not show a record of a "Frances" from Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh in our system that has traveled within the past 60 days on the Grand Canyon South Rim - Hoover Dam Air Flight and Land Tour.
It is very difficult to respond to any issue/concern without accurate information.
Who really traveled and when?
