We ordered a king size sleigh bed from Hudson's Broyhill furniture in Kennesaw, Georgia. We were told that it was solid cherry. Actually we found out that it was a veneer composite made in China. Five minutes after the bed was delivered the footboard popped from the side rail, clearly defective as there was an air pocket where the wood split. We hadn't even touched the bed yet. The delivery people may not have squared the bed properly and thus exposing the defect. We promptly called Hudson's Broyhill to inform them. Mark, the customer service representative, quickly came to our home and without any common courtesy of a hand shake or introduction said "where's the bed?" He looked at the bed and then accused us of "moving the bed." We never moved it or even touched it. The employee then went and picked up the opposite end of the bed and the "wood" crumbled and was there fore further damaged. The employee wanted to glue it back together even though this was a brand new bed and had just crumbled a chunk of the bed into about 30 pieces. Then he said we'd have to pay for the damage because again we "moved the bed." We thought this was outrageous and that surely this guy was a joke. We would just speak to the manager or owner and they would replace the bed. Josh Hudson was no better and was one of the owners. He told us that we would have to pay for our damaged bed or pay a restocking fee of 25% of the bed and return it. We were shocked. We were going to just dispute it with our credit card but decided that we'd just go through the manufacturer Broyhill. Someone from Quality Assurance saw the photos of the defective bed and agreed to send us a replacement. After about 7 weeks we had our bed. It wouldn't have cost the Hudsons anything to replace the bed since it was clearly defective but they chose the route of no customer service. I would never shop there again.
