Hudson Hyundai of Hudson Auto Group are a bunch of scam artists and rip off experts. Do not waste your time.

CHECK THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU at www.bbb.org.  They are rated F for a reason!

The short version of my story is this:  I dealt with Mohammed Ansari after coming in from an Internet deal I found on cars.com for a 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS with 10,000 miles on it for $12,999.  I was skeptical because other dealers were asking $14-$16 K, some with even more miles on it.    Something had to be wrong, I said to myself..

To my surprise, my initial visit to Hudson Hyundai was pleasant.. I got to test drive the car (which drove great by the way) and the price for the car was what was advertised.  I said I was not ready to decide that day since this was for another family member.

I told them I was not ready to decide that day since the car was for a family member.. Then I got the sales pitch..... "What do we have to do to get you to decide today."  I said... Well the car we are trading in is a 1999 Nissan Sentra with 46,000 original miles on it.. The body is messed up but the car rides great.. I then showed them the actual pictures of the car and all the damage that was on it.    I said, we were originally asking $2,500 for it and if you can give us a good deal on the trade, I will leave a deposit today.

They replied, well the car is beat up and we are not going to do anything with it.. We will end up crushing it because we cant sell it.. We could give you $500 on trade.  I replied that was not enough.. If we got at least $1,500 or $1,000 for it, I would leave a deposit.

They said, Ok, if we give you $1,000 for it, do we have a deal, to which I replied yes we do.  Left the deposit and made plans to bring my mom back the following Monday to pick up the car.

NOTE- When i went into Hudson Auto Group, Hudson Hyundai, I was not in the trade in vehicle.  They saw pictures of all the body damage to the car.

Fast Forward to that Monday--- So  what happened.

We gave them the check, copy of license, insurance etc, and guess what!  Just as others have reviewed before me, they came back and changed the deal.  They said that I misrepresented the condition of the car and that they would not give us $1,000 for trade..  I got really upset and said, I told you the car had body damage, showed you the pictures..  Mohammed Ansari replied- "Who would give you a thousand dollars for that car.. You are not taking responsibility here."

I had shown them the pictures and was totally upfront about the condition of the car.. I told him this and said, you guys said you were not even going to sell the trade in, you were going to junk it.. How can you be saying this is my fault!

Bottom line is that these guys are a BUNCH OF CROOKS.. It was the end of the month and they wanted to make a sale.  The gave me the $1,000 on trade without even seeing the car..  We got insurance on the Hyundai and had traveled for hours to get it (Holland tunnel traffic is horrible)...They pulled this on other reviewers as well.. Said it was one price and then changed things last minute.. The probably thought we had come so far and would give in.. Hell NO.  STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Hudson Auto Group is RATED F (on June 24, 2013)  from the better business bureau of a reason!!!  If it seems to good to be true it is!!!

NEVER go there!!!

by Michal from New York City, NY | February 11, 2013

it’s the worst dealers ever. don’t trust anything they say! I got an offer from them to a new car over phone and also WRITTEN in email – and when arriving to the store – they told me that after talking with the manager they can’t sell it for this price so it’s an extra 1500$… never saw so much layers in one place…

Horrible Experience!!

by Maricela Colondres from New Jersey | January 30, 2013

I wont recommend this place to my worst enemy. I inquired about a vehicle on their website, got an email the same day saying the vehicle was still available. Went in the next day they claimed it may have sold they couldn’t find it. Make a long story short, I purchased a vehicle and returned it a couple of days later for a knocking motor and they weren’t happy to the point where they were not willing to make a deal with any other car! It’s been 8 days and I still haven’t received my down payment refund. You can make several calls & NO ONE CALLS BACK , TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

Terrible!

by Mike T from New York, New York | December 29, 2012

This is my first time in whole my life that I’m writing a bad review for any business; They are terrible! Never trust anything they say on the phone, they change it in the office! We talked on the phone, the person talked to GM and offered a price that will be negotiable as well! Over there they said different price! Even for the APR, they pretend that they don’t know that right now that I’m writing this review, it’s 0.9 % for certified Hyuindai pre-own car! Then I showed them on the website (www.hyundaicertified.com) then he said OK! I was seating almost 45 minutes on the chair to show me the car, then they said that they can’t find the keys, without saying a single word SORRY! Never waste your time because I’m sure when you get there you will not waste your money!

Terrible, don’t waste your time

by Esquire from NY | August 7, 2012

They list cars they do not have. I called to talk about two cars before I visited and they told me how great they were, I could test drive, etc. When I arrived the next am, after much waiting, they told me they “couldn’t find” the cars, and that oops, one of them might be in the shop. Don’t waste your time. They are misleading.

Very Bad Experience

by T_P_Q from New Jersey | August 3, 2012

Scheduled a test-drive for a used car with them; when I got there they wouldn’t show me the car I’d called for, and tried to sell me a different, more expensive one. Customer rep left me waiting for 10-15 minutes at a time while he repeatedly “looked for” the car I’d scheduled or “talked to the bosses”. It took almost 40 minutes for them to finally admit they didn’t have the car that they’d posted on the site (made up some story about not finding the keys or something equally ridiculous), and another half hour of trying to get me to buy the more expensive one… All in all, very dissatisfied with this dealership, won’t be recommending it to anyone soon.

They have the "F" phoney rating ONLY BECAUSE they haven't purchased the "A" phoney rating!  Don't misunderstand me here...this dealership did try the bait and switch etc.  The salesman should not have said they would give you anything until they saw the trade but that move on his part was probably part of the scam.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND, the BBB is NOT what you think it is!  The BBB is NOT part of any government body.  They have absolutely no power to do anything.  The BBB's con-game is just as slimy as what this car dealer attempted to pull.  The BBB game is to SELL these phoney ratings to any business which is willing to pay the money.  Go to youtube and enter "BBB SCAM" into the search engine.  The BBB is NOT your friend.  The BBB is nothing more than a slimeball constructed, con-game.  Many, many dealers will BUY the BBB "A" phoney rating and then use that in their own con-game as they continue defrauding customers!  What the BBB does is exactly like those places where you can pay money for a phoney college diploma.  The BBB is pure scum.
