After reading only a few of the horror stories on this website I am a lucky customer!  I contacted hughesnet to inquire about service.  It was the strangest call I have ever made to a company I wanted to buy service from. When I repeatedly asked about what the data limits were per month, I finally got the answer that there were none, but after a certain amount of usage, my service would just slow down and I would have to reconnect. Sound like anything you want to sign up for?  But that was not the strangest part.....they refused to give me a price for service until they ran my credit!  Naturally I refused. Why would I give this company my SSN when I was not even sure I would want service after hearing the price?  It was without a doubt the wierdest request I have ever received from a utility company.  The only utility I've ever had run my credit would be for cell service, but they are at least able to tell me what my phone and service will cost prior to running it.  So glad I told them no and hung up as it brought me to this and other sites of customers that had contracts with Hughesnet and really lousy service.  Thanks for posting everyone!
