Hughes Net , the most horrible customer service and fraud I have ever delt with over and over again. Toledo Ohio
I got locked into the Hughes Net Contract over two years ago. Worst service ever!!!!!! I sat at home the day of the installation and watched the white instal van drive by my drive way, stop read my address which is vivid on the post at the driveway and watched the installer drive off. My appointment was on Valentines Day in the afternoon. I could only imagine that he did not want to work on the afternoon of Valentines.
So I called and was told that I would have to make a new appointment with no apoligy or credit for my waste of time. SO when the install guy finally showed up the second appointment, late, he installed the dish and the signal to the computer had problems from the start. I called Hughes Net and spoke with someone with very broken hard to understand English 2-3 times a week.
Staying on the phone for about an hour at a time, doing the same trouble shooting everytime, over and over again with no new out come. So after monthes hughes net started blaming my computer. I had Nerds on Call on 2 seperate occations to come out and go thru my system, costing me about $130 for each visit, only to conclude that there was nothing wrong with my computer, there of course was something wrong with the signal from Hughes Net.
Theses same problems went on for over a year at about $100 a month bill from Hughes Net. I finally wrote a letter to the Corportate office explaining everything, I also sent a letter to the CEO, trying to get out of my contract. I was denied.
So finally at a year and a half into my service with hughes net, because you are locked into the contract for 2 years, I broke down and bought a top of the line computer. And low and behold, I was having the same internet problems. At my 2 year mark I called and canceled there service!!!!!!!!! I was so happy! I waited for the box to send the equiptment back and could not pack it up fast enough. I mailed it back to them. 2 days later I relized that I did not include the radio transmitter.
So I called Hughes Net up right away, received an address for Memphis, TN 38118, box up the transmitter and a cord paid for shipping, insurance and signature confirmation. Now over 2 months later I received a credit letter stating that they never received the radio transmitter and they want $215.00 for the tranmitter by itself. Eventhough I have provided my receipt from the post office with the confirmation info and the name of their employee J. Jamal that signed for the equiptment on March 31, 2013 at 11:10AM.
Do Not Ever Use Hughes Net!!!
