I am 1 yr into a two yr "contract" that HugheNet has already broken by not being able to deliver the bandwidth for which I signed up, bumping me to a lower package.  It took many months and many calls to their abysmal support with each call taking well over an hour before they admitted they could not make the higher bandwidth package work. Other than for installation, I have yet to get a service rep out without many phone calls taking from 5 to 9 business days.  Problems have been very frequent with outages and rarely getting the advertised bandwidth. 

The Hughesnet so called "Tools" to test bandwidth are extremely skewed consistantly grossly overstating system performance compared to any other reputable bandwidth measurement.  I just got off the phone with them again after finding the system down and being told by my wife it has been unreliable the entire past week while I was gone. They tell me "there will be a $150 service charge to send a technician". After an additional 35 minutes of fighting over the phone they tried to bribe me again to stay with them with discounts and credits and when I told them NO, they still expect me to pay an early termination fee when they do nor hold up their end of the deal!  This is nothing more or less than abuse and then being given a bill for it!
