Hughesnet needs a class action lawsuit against it.  They are liars.  When they sold me my service they said it would be "Gen 4", lightning fast.

The first day of the service, it was lightning fast.  Then, the service slowed to a ridiculous speed.  I repeatedly did speed tests and my speed was .01!!!

I called and they admitted they did not have Gen 4 in the area yet.  I demanded alternatives.  They said there were no alternatives but that Gen 4 satellite would be launched in a few months.  That was a year ago.

Whenever I called, it would take an hour of getting transferred from rude ignorant liar to rude ignorant liar.  They insisted it was my computer.  I spent hundreds of dollars having my computer examined.  It was not my computer.  Friends brought computers over.  Same problem.  I kept complaining.  Finally, I found other complaints on the internet and heard that they indeed were offering a higher speed option in my area although they said none existed.  I called and demanded the higher speed.  After talking to half a dozen more liars, one finally admitted that they had something called "Connect Pro" but that I was too late to get it.

What??  I was sold Gen 4 a year ago and since that didn't really exist, now the second best thing I was told Iwas too late for????  I pitched a fit and they finally said they upgraded me to "Connect Pro."  But my speed is still .01, miserable, inconsistent, only operational at odd times of the day or night.  Then I found out that if I get lucky enough to stream a few shows (which is a miracle with Hughesnet) that I use my "data quota" and am cut off!!!   WHAT???  I NEVER agreed to a data quota or a limit!!!!  Also, Hughesnet has their own deceptive "speed test"which is utter nonsense and is rigged and fraudulent.  EVERY other speed test says .01 and Hughes says 5 but I can't stream without rebuffering 30 - 40 times in a 4 minute video.  These Hughesnet people should be in jail, really.

At $80 some dollars per month I am absolutely being ripped off.  I know there are thousands like me.  It is time for Hughesnet to go DOWN.  Who wants to help me with a class-action lawsuit?

I think that the dissatisfied and defrauded Hughesnet customers need a rallying point to mount a class-action lawsuit against them. I also think that Hughesnet needs to come under scrutiny by the FCC, FTC, and FBI for fraudulent and deceptive business practices, and for violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collections Act . Suggestions?
