HughesNet Not as Promised, Rude, Misleading, Horrible Service hughesnet.com Internet

My wife and I used HughesNet for less than a month before finding out just how awful it is.  We were allowed enough memory to watch about one movie from 8am-2am before our "cut off" and about the same during 2am-8am.  We are not usually up during those late night hours, so the latter times were useless to us.

When we called to complain, we were met with very rude, powerless "customer service" representatives who didn't listen to a single word we said but rather tried to upgrade us on a service we already hated.  The people we spoke with giggled at our requests and questions.  They honestly wouldn't know what real customer service is if it smacked them in their faces.

Because we enrolled with their "service" (I use quotes because I feel it is far from any definition of service) through DirectTV, we were in a contract with them as well.  Rather than keep HughesNet, we were more than happy to pay an early cancellation fee of $400.00 to get rid of them.  It was well worth it.  We also had to climb up on our roof to send their equipment back.  Again, well worth it.  

We have now opted for Time Warner and are very happy.  We're also making up for the absurd cancellation fee by saving $25 on our monthly bill from our new service.  I strongly encourage anyone considering HughesNet to run for the hills and never look back.  They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and wouldn't wish them on even my worst enemy.
