Signed up for hughsnet in November. Installer of system came out told them to place system anywhere they needed to but that it was a new roof and I only wanted one set of holes so please be careful at placement of equipment. The installer showed me placement I asked about the tree that was close to the equipment installer told me signal came from other direction. Started service, it was terrible. Thought it was because I ordered the slower speed. I went up on my service, still had problems. Called 2 or three more times with problems til the point I just started asking to discontinuing service. I was told there was a $350 fee. The reps kept trying to convince me to let them troubleshoot. After more than 6 hours in calls to them, a new modem, an upgrade in speed that I paid for the best I got from them was a credit for one months service and 2 gb of service. They finally sent a tech out, only to tell me that the system was set up in a place that it can not receive reception. Even knowing this they still made me pay $170 to disconnect service. I get penalized for the breach when they never set the service up correctly? Really? How can a contract be used to penalties me when the services where never set up correctly? I get no penalty for the fact that they agreed to provide me with working Internet and I paid every month on time. I get nothing for the damage to my roof, the equipment I bought to be able to use their modem. Terrible company, terrible customer service, one of those companies you hope get sued and go under.
