HumanaOne Dental Humana Dental, Humana Liars, Cheaters, Do not offer what they say louisville, Kentucky

I joined Humana, with the knowledge that I would be able to visit any dentist with my plan and  the guy listed off array of dentist in my area and also told me the hours of the dentist office I picked were fixable for my needs, Such as the dentist was open every other weekend. I only paid 20 a month for the insurance I had before I moved to Texas and I figure 16 bucks wasnt bad for dental insurance. I was very wrong!!! Humana lies and lies some more. I paid 50 bucks or maybe a few dollars less to start this service.

I called the dentist to make an appointment and they are only open on Mondays (which wouldnt be a major deal, but they didnt have an opening for 3 months). Then when I called to inform Humana of the lies I was told, they informed me that I could drive 3 hours away to see a dentist and when I asked the lady if she would do that and she stated If I needed to see one yes. I told her she was lying and she later agreed she wouldnt. Its not the money spent, I mean yes 50 bucks could go for other items, but its the principle of the matter.

So, checked my mail and they sent me a check for 15.99. I did not pay them 15.99 I paid about 50 bucks and I didnt lie to them about the insurance and I called them as soon as I found out about this matter. I want my money back, cheating and lying are never okay and to lie to millions of people about services you do not offer is a horrible thing and this is what is wrong with our country. So, I will not be cashing the check they sent me. I want to be paid in full as they did not live up to the agreement I was sold and they lied after the fact. Anyone out there looking for insurance do yourself a favor and avoid these scumbag cheating liars.

My Name is Eddie B of Clayton, NC. I just found more about this cam Humana Insurance is doing to ripp off

Unsupecting Consumers. If you sign up for their Dental or Vision Plan , You must pay initial 59.00 fee.

What you find out or don't find out until it's too late to cancel this sub-standard insurance is that you have

joined an association and the monthly dues are your premuim and your locked in to a one year contract. That

is why limited procedures. These corporations every day are looking for ways to bend or go around regulations

so they beef their bottom line and laugh all the way to the bank!!!!!!!

My GOD I am so angry, becuase being on limited income from Disabilty only its always the one's that least

can afford that become the PREY!!! Maybe a Class Action Attorney should look into this. Because they don't

mention it on the web site where you buy and enroll.

Respectfully,

Just stick with it, and keep fighting them... There is no reason why they should be able to abuse the power they have. I really dislike this company for all the BS it feeds people.

This is interesting you seem to set my opinion for me without really any knowledge; actually I lived in Texas at the time. They wanted me to go from Killeen to San Antonio to see a dentist, and please take the time to call the company yourself. When I opened that policy, I was told many lies.... There is a major flaw in the health care system, period. I have educated myself in finding insurance vs. then.

A) you pay a "set up fee" it came to around 50 bucks,

B) Nobody should have an extended waiting period just to have your teeth cleaned.

C) You obviously never had to deal with them.

F) you know what you can do with that, and enjoy it! I won't be responding again, I only play with trolls once.

I too bought a dental plan from HumanaOne for 18.99 month and a One time Initial Filing Fee for 59.00, When I got the plan in September 2013 and I discovered what was not covered, I figured I would keep it for a month and cancel it. I got NC Blue Cross Dental Blue for 39.00 month which covers everything. I contacted Humana through my web portal that you register for to cancel the policy, I emailed them 4 times. They never replied once to me request. I also tried to call them two to three differnt times only to be cut off. I finally made it through only after the consumer rep told me its after 30 days and I can not cancel my policy at all. that means they will continue to charge my credit card for every month until the appeal grievance letter I had to write is answered which can take 30-60 days and their is no guarantee they will cancel and or refund the policy. This why I am so angry, this whay you must have Federal regulations. Consumer rights are being stripped away by conservatives in Congress. I have contacted my Dept of insurance, My credit Card company and the FTC if they ever open again. I will Prevail.

Ok, obviously I can't see your policy or anything, but something doesn't sound right here.

Do you live out in the boonies or something? Are you telling me that there are NO dentists closer than 50 miles from your home? I highly doubt that. I don't think you heard something right.

And second, the hours of operation you were provided from the customer service rep are only based on WHAT THE DENTIST TOLD THEM WHEN THEY STARTED WITH HUMANA. So, if their hours have changed since then, they'd have to inform Humana of the change. Why don't you blame the dentist for not updating his/her information with Humana?

Third, I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this whole $50 scenario, but I'd imagine the reason you didn't get the full amount back is either:

A. You have either a deductible or some coinsurance on your policy. (I'd be surprised if you didn't)

or

B. The dentist filed under some sort of out of network name or tax ID and you're getting a lower benefit because of that.

You need to get this primitive "insurance companies are evil and just out to screw you over" mentality out of your head. Take the time and listen to what the Humana rep is telling you. File an appeal if necessary.

Thanks for posting this. I was just thinking of signing on for their insurance. I called the dentist that was recommended by them (in the plan) and turns out Humana's information wasn't up to date.  Saved me a few bucks!
