On October 25th 2005 I was in Humperdink's playing free poker they have there on every Tuesday night. I had been going to this bar/restaurant for about a year at least once a week. In that time I have never caused a problem or had a complaint, in fact I stopped a few fights from occuring. I always paid my tab and left good tips. Also, the service had always been above and beyond the call of duty and that was one reason I went there often. So on this night, there was a waitress that wasn't too fond of me because my friend who has been going there for over 13 years didn't like her. He felt she treated female guests better than male guests.

This waitress, Cassie used to be behind the bar, but was removed due to slow service and customer complaints. Now my friend had called her names very loudly, but never got in any trouble over it. During my poker game, I had to go up to the bar and order my own drink 3 times even though it was not very busy and at the end of the night I had to wait 15 minutes for my tab. Cassie was not on the floor and there was only 3 tables that had customers. I ended up having to go to the bartender, but he couldn't pull my tab up in the computer. The following day, I made a complaint on the company website and stated what I had stated here. That evening I go into Humperdink's and I find out that Cassie was moved to the dining room and the store manager Susan Walker had to close due to problems with the night shift. I informed two people there that I was the one who made a compaint and one of them who had just started working there, Debbie got very mad and said "Cassie is a great waitress, I never had a problem with her." I stated she never had a problem because Debbie is female and females get better treatment than males.

I return on Friday and one of the managers there is upset because I didn't complain on the store manager Susan because they all wanted her fired. I told her that Susan didn't do anything to me and that I was complaining about poor service from Cassie. I left and on Saturday I was turned away at the door by the same manager that I wasn't allowed back in until I spoke to Susan. So on Sunday since it was football season and I spent the whole day at Humperdink's, I call Susan and explain why I complained. She states that I have a "personal problem" with Cassie and two employees confirmed that so "my business is no longer welcome". I informed her that is fine and sent a complaint to the owner John Mack who never sent a reply.

Now in late March I find out that Susan had been fired so I decide to make an appearance in Humperdink's on a Sunday night. Within my first five minutes the manager comes up to me (who I knew from last year) and tells me that Cassie said I was here and that I am banned. She informs me that since Cassie still works there, she wants my original complaint because rumors were going around about the true nature of my complaint. I email her and after a couple of weeks, get a response that since Debbie (who is now a manager) is involved its going to be a hard fight.

My whole reason for posting this on here is I have witnessed people throwing drinks, turning over chairs and cussing at waitstaff get banned for a few days or weeks, but my legitimate complaint bans me for life??

Thank you

This is a classy well established town north of LBJ They have their own Police Department, very nice stores and restaurants

The OP was just some low life who thought he could bring his white trash ways to a good part of town
How do I know this - I drive through Addison every day on the way to work, I shop in Addison and sometimes frequent the restaurants in Addison
Sorry to say many eating establishments are gone due to the high rent in Addison but all in all a good place to feel safe

First, the original poster starts out by saying that he's always had excellent service at this establishment, that service has always been "above and beyond" that which was expected, and he has always enjoyed dining there.

Then, he has one relatively insignificant experience in which he has to go to the bar to get his own beverage. And all of a sudden the place is now horrible, he accuses the staff of sexism, he wants people fired, he posts complaints up the wazoo ...

It's no wonder he has been banned from the restaurant. He sounds like an absolute looney!!!

Derek,

I am the present General Manger of the Humperdinks in Addison. The report you recorded on Ripoffreport.com happened in 2005 and all the people you named are long gone. I want to assure you and the readers of Rippoff that Humperdinks is a family oriented, sports themed restaurant group (5 locations) that has been in the DFW area for 25+ years and the behaviors you describe are NEVER to be tolerated by our guests or our employees. I was not there when this happened and I am not here to dispute you but I want to reiterate. We treat our guests much differently than described by your report. We would not be a dominant player in this market for so long if we did. We have many regulars that I knew from the old Humperdinks in Addison 15+ years ago. I treat them like I do anyone else and aim to exceed their expectations as it relates to ambiance, service, value, entertainment, respect and especially security. I would like to extend an invitation to you to come in and meet me, discuss this issue and let us move on. There are lots of new and exciting things going on at the Humperdinks in Addison and I welcome you to be part of it.

Dutch

Hello, I know the general manager at Addison Humperdinks. My suggestion is to contact me or to contact him to gain access to the restaurant. Things have changed over the past few years and trying again may be to your advantage. I doubt you are banned for life based on what you have stated. Look forward to you contacting me. Thanks brian

Dallas-Forth Worth Has A Lot of Sports Bars...

So WHY do you have to go to THAT bar?

There are a lot more bars with a lot friendlier atmosphere in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex!

That place sounds like a cross between a bucket of blood ( a place where you go if you want to kick somebody's a*s oe get your kicked) and a topless bar dump! Like a bar that Jerry Springer would run.

IF I drank alcohol and IF I had the time and inclination to hang out at a bar, it sure wouldn't be THAT bar!

It's too political for me,anyway.

Good luck and happy hunting!
