Where do I start? I've had so many problems with Huntington Bank! Problem #1 I have an automatic debit coming from an AOL answering service that was used from a debit card three years ago. After hours of searching for a number (AOL said they were not affiliated with the answering service) I called to cancel, however, it's still has not been cancelled, I've also closed out my debit card that was attached to this AOL debit. That didn't stop them from debiting my account, I went to my bank, guess what they told me "Well, we don't know how we could stop it unless you close out your account, try to call these people back again".

#2 Two years ago I had Direct TV do an automatic debit, my monthly bill was around $45.00. I did not recieve paper statements but I knew exactly when and how much was being debited. December of 07' they (Direct TV) charged me over $300.00 and I was told I had ordered many products that I NEVER ordered. This transaction caused me almost $1,000.00 in overdraft fees. I filled out a "dispute" form and they ended up giving me the amount Direct TV withdrew and only two NSF fees of $37.50 each. Well I found out I was overdrawn when I took $50.00 out of my account from an ATM, the machine gave me my $50.00 along with a reciept showing me my negative balance, this is why Huntington would only refund me two of the MANY NSF fees. They said the rest of the fees were a result of my ATM withdrawal!!! It took me nearly a month to get my balance back to good! I tried to explain to them that I wouldn't have taken the $50.00 out if I had known I was overdrawn and I couldn't believe the ATM allowed me to take it out!! I got nowhere with that!

#2 This time I overdrew my account, being human I forgot my DTE bill was coming out, I live paycheck to paycheck and thought I had one more check before I make the deduction in my register. I went to the bank on Friday since that is when I get paid. Now I normally deposit the whole check or deposit $300.00 and get the rest back in cash. Well again, I made another error when filling out my deposit ticket and reversed the two numbers. At this point I was in the negative and unaware of it. The drive-thru teller took my deposit of $72.00 and gave me back $300.00 in cash, knowing I was in the negative even after my deposit! I did not realize I made an error until Saturday night when I took the money out of the envelope and there was nothing I could do until Monday. Now I was in the negative even more because there were debits that came out of my account Friday night. Monday morning there was a $35.00 extended overdraft fee along with a $7.00 daily overdraft fee. So now my account is reaching almost $300.00 in the negative. Also, my account became overdrawn on Wednesday and I recieved the letter notice on Monday when my mail comes at 3:00p.m. I called the banks Monday and explained to them what had happend, they didn't care, I told them that I was a single mother of four kids and that I also did not have a running vehicle to get back to the bank, again, they didn't care. Now this is my complaint, I understand I was the one with the error, however, I use to work for two different banks over an eight year span. And both banks were all about customer satisfaction, common courtesy and the overall well being of a customer. Here is where I feel Huntington is a rip off. First let me say I take full responsibility for my account being overdrawn in the first place, it was my error, however, when I went to the bank Friday to make my deposit, obviously not knowing I was overdrawn, why didn't the teller give me the common courtesy of telling me that deposit I made didn't cover the overdraft charges. Had she said that I could of knocked off $125.00 in overdraft fees. Most banks wouldn't allow me to make a partial payment on my overdraft account and get $300.00 in cash. Secondly, why does it take five days to recieve notice of my overdraft when I live only two miles away from the bank? Thirdly, if someone becomes overdrawn, they obviously made an error (we are only human) if a check for $12.50 goes through that causes an overdraft, how does a bank get away with charging more then half of what the check was for!? And how do they get away with charing ridiculous fees of a $35.00 extended overdraft fee along with a $7.00 daily overdraft fee!!! This is ridiculous for those that don't intend on overdrawing their account and that live paycheck to paycheck, that have food to put on the table for their children along with all the other bills it takes to get through in life!!!

Huntington does not practice good quality customer service, they practice stealing from their clients, putting them in more debt then what they need! If a person becomes overdrawn they OBVIOUSLY don't have the means for $200.00 in fees either! I do realize there are people out there that write checks knowing they don't have the funds, but then there are struggling single mothers/dads that have so much on their plate and at times do make non-intentional banking errors!!!

Had I not have my Social Security death benefits auto-deposited into that account I would of closed it out years ago, but I should of saved myself the grief and stress and just did it. Bet your tush that's what I'm working on right now!!!! I will NEVER bank with Huntington again, and not only will I NOT bank with them, I will let EVERYONE I know about the struggles, hardships, lack of common courtesy customer satisfaction along with the ridiculous fees this bank offers and not to mention their lack of knowledge!!
