I brought to his attention and he agreed that it was uneven and said he would fix it which never happened as he said his workers weren't willing to come back and all the money I paid them had been spent. He then said he would pay me so that I can have it fix which cost me another $2000. He gave me $300, and a whole lot of execuses & promises to pay before he stopped answering or returning my phone calls. Conley ga
I found Burnette Hurst add on Craigslist saying he had 20years plus of concrete experience and he could get the job done and he was offering a 15% discount. I sent him a picture of exactly what I wanted and he said it would be no problem he could get the job done and how wonderful it would as he believed in curb appeal and guaranteed his work. He came out and also gave me a in person estimate which he went upto $3600 instead of the original $3300. He said he had a bobcat and would get the yard level
The day the concrete was to be poured, he showed up with no bobcat and said he was doing it by hand as he didn't want to tear up my yard. They poured the side walk which wasn't bad and began to pour slab. He said the entire job would tak 13 tons of concrete and only 10 tons were able to come on the first truck. I left to get the guys some drinks and when I returned the truck was gone and I asked was more concrete coming and he said no they didn't need it and they made the 10 tons work. When I looked at the slab it was leaning to one side with a dips throughout. He told me to let it dry and it was suppose to have a slant and he would come back to fix the dips.
He came back the next day to finish up retaining wall which wasn't right either and I pointed out to him that the slab was slanted too much and had dips throughout that you can feel as you walk on it. He agreed, apologized, and assured me he would make it right. The next day or so I contacted him and he told that his crew wasn't willing to come and correct their mistake and he couldn't do it by his self. He apologized again and said he would give me back some of my money to have it corrected.
I informed him that it cost me $2000 to get it corrected. I told him I would settle for $1200 providing he pay it in full through arranged payments or else if it goes to court I wanted a full refund $300 he paid. He said no problem and paid me $300 and said he would bring another $300 in a couple days. The couple days never came but pletny of excuses as he was working on other jobs and he was getting shorted by the consumer. He told me to give him more days which turned into week and eventually he stopped answering calls and I noticed on craigslist he was advertising under his brother, Tony now.
I googled his number and found that he ran off $2000 from another consumer, had a report with BBB of which he never followed up with, & had an extensive criminal history.
