I purchased a Husqvarna Aerator over the internet from a Husqvarna retailer in TN. The unit was a demo model and I was told that it was covered under the full factory warranty. I never used the aerator and it had no gas in it when it was delivered. I attempted to start the aerator but it would not crank. I took it to a service retailer and they told me that it needed a new carb. This unit was a brand new demo unit. I told them that i never used it. The service retailer told me that it had sat outside and had bad gas that had ran through it at one time. Either cases would cause the carburetor to go bad. They stated that was not covered under the warranty and would cost me $160 even though I paid $2500 for it and never even ran the unit. I pleaded my case with Husqvarna. They responded with a survey on how they handled my case even though they never handled the case. They finally contacted me and stated I was out of luck. I will NEVER PURCHASE HUSQVARNA PRODUCTS AGAIN.

First of all it is a Honda engine on the Husqvarna aerator. Husqvarna put the Honda engine on the aerator and they sold me the unit. They are responsible for it. The retailer that sold me the unit is a Husqvarna rep so husqvarna puts their trust in this retailer to be truthful. This retailer is is a rep for Husqvarna. I took it to a retailer that works on Husqvarna products and did not have this unit so that is why I did not buy from this retailer so do your homework first. The shop gets paid for working on the warranty issues.

Do your own homework before making stupid comments. You gave me a hundred different possibilities based on very little. None of which even applies. I did not ask for your help or any others. This was listed as a warning to others not a cry for help. Obviously others had warranty issues as well which sounds very similar to my issue. Check out the rest of this site and you will see other issues. By the way I did see the unit and it was started before I purchased it. You need to do more research before making comments. Husqvarna has warranty issues and others agree. You work for Husqvarna and trying to protect their name. But I am learning now that that name was varnished way before now.

Why do you expect someone to try to do a warranty that he's not going to get paid on by the manufacturer just because YOU took a chance on something you couldn't even see/ran before you bought it? You apparently couldn't even give this shop (I assume you took it to a shop) your business in buying an aerator yet they somehow have to bail you out.

If the unit is on some sort of "demo" plan at the retailer as dictated by the manufacturer, then that is what would dictate the warranty.
The person you have an issue with is the retailer. Of course HE is going to tell you the machine would be fully covered under warranty-he's never going to see the unit or you again.
Husqvana did not sell you the machine....an internet-you can't preinspect-retailer did and THAT is who is responsible for the repair. For all you know, a landscaper used the crap out of it and this retailer is just saying it's a demo. Husqvarna may have made the unit. A different manufacturer made the engine. A retailer sold it. Do you really know who left the gas in it? My money is on the retailer.

If it's a Briggs engine, post the "code" and I can tell you the year the engine was made which would give you an idea of how old the unit itself probably is.

You took a big chance buying something like this off the net. If that is all that is wrong with the unit, consider yourself lucky.
And yes, gas left in a carb and going bad is NOT warranty by ANY manufacturer. The engine manufacturer is who sets the guidelines for anything engine related to be repaired under warranty-not Husqvarna. So don't be so quick to bash like you have more of a clue----you don't. You are wrong on MANY levels here.

To the person who responded to the original complaint:
Its brand new in regards to the factory warranty, read the whole complaint before jumping in. I wish people would learn to read. This one came with a full factory warrnaty. By the way, demo vehicles are considered new when sold, not classified as demo. Learn your facts then get back with me if you have any more questions.

"A brand NEW demo unit". Either it's BRAND NEW or A DEMO UNIT but it can't be both. A "demo unit" is USED. Whether it's a aerator or a VEHICLE, it's still USED. When are people gonna figure this out? Now, that sucks about the way they handled your case. I'd file complaints with everyone I could about it. What was the price difference between what you paid for the used aerator and a new one with a full warranty?
