Complaint Review: Hustedt Chevrolet Inc.

I brought my 1996 Chevy to Hustedt for a factory-recall service and NYS inspection. The car was returned to me with the alarm system and power door locks inoperative.

Hustedt admitted that their technician had problems starting my car after he completed the service - he said he had to "toggle the switch and play with the alarm." After much discussion, they agreed to "look at my car" again.

The next day, they called me and told me the problem with my door locks and alarm was "unrelated to the recall service." They also claimed that my door locks were "after-market." I presented indisputable evidence that the door locks were factory installed. This made no difference. Hustedt refuses to admit their responsibility and refuses to repair my car. They even refused to allow me to speak with a manager. And finally, they do not return phone calls. They have completely washed their hands of the situation.

I now have a car with no working alarm, and no working electric door locks, thanks to the actions of Hustedt Chevrolet's service technicians.

This is a dishonest, sleazy, and corrupt organization in my experienced opinion. I highly recommend Long Islanders avoid Hustedt Chevrolet. Save yourself money, aggravation, and indescribable frustration from dealing with this non-responsive, unprofessional organization.
