I purchased a crankshaft for my customers 1390 case tractor from Hy capacity who gets their cranks from Quality Power Products.

This piece of junk crankshaft broke after 19 hours of operation (a nice clean break right beside #1 con rod) Unfortunatly even though all the bearings were still in mint condition it rubbed against the con rod and ruined it, causing me to have to totally disasemble the engine and put in a new con rod along with the new crank ( this time I purchased through Case IH)

I was out about $4000.00 For the job so I sent the bill, along with the broken crank and bearings to Hy cap. thinking they should take some responsibility. What I got was the stall tacktic for about 4 months, then they issued me a credit for the price of the crank (like they were doing me a big favor)

When I phoned Randy Madden at Quality Power Products and asked for the broken crank returned so I had something to persue legal action with, he said they diposed of it after 90 days.

Lesson here is when you try to save customers money by using jobber parts the instaler is the one that ends up paying
