My family entered into business with Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling in August 2013.  Being a disabled verteran, we were impressed with the military discount Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling offered.  We entered into a contract and a check deposit of $5,000.00 was given to Clayton Hyatt and cashed by his company immediately.  The remaining $15,000.00 was to be paid upon completion of roof repair services no later than end-of-month October 2013.  That was the last time we saw Clayton Hyatt or anyone from Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling.  Depsit countless phone calls, many of which were taken by Clayton Hyatt with promises given to us that his company would come and do the job as per the contract we entered into...although all of his promises were attached with numerous conditions--such as, as soon as the weather was better, he found out if he would be deployed back to Iraq, the materials were available, there were 5 consecutive sunny days, etc. etc. etc.--making it easy for him to continue to perpetuate the fraud.  In December 2013, my family opened a complaint with the South Texas Better Business Bureau.  We weren't surprised to see several other customers who were also duped and had their money taken by Clayton Hyatt and his roofing company without the services they paid for being performed.  It was clear as day that this is a serial fraud perpetuated by a skilled criminal.  The BBB complaint process played out in Hyatt's favor because he has obviously been through that process numerous times and knows that the BBB cannot really do anything--they are just a platform for people to open complaints that businesses can then respond to...and eventually, after so many responses back and forth, BBB closes the complaint.  Each response to our BBB complaint from Clayton Hyatt was a promise to come out by a certain date to finish the job.  Clayton Hyatt nor anyone from Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling ever came out to finish the job.  You can see the same behavioral pattern in the other BBB complaints filed against Clayton Hyatt and Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling.  In March of 2014, we filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Office just to get the fraud on record.  Also in March of 2014, we filed a request for mediation with the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center.  A date was set for Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling to meet us at their center for mediation.  Clayton Hyatt requested to postpone that date (no surprise), so a new date was set for June 2014.

In June 2014, Clayton Hyatt appeared for mediation.  Again, as a skilled criminal now in a setting where there is absolutely no doubt that he is a fraud, he began to act as a remorseful victim and confessed to being deep in debt and owing a lot of people a lot of money for unfinished jobs that he was paid to perform or never even started.  A binding mediation agreement was signed that stated Clayton Hyatt/Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling would refund my family's $5,000.00 in full by July 14, 2014.  The money was never received.  By filing this report, my family hopes that other residents in San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas see this and know that Clayton Hyatt and Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling is a fraudulent business with deceptive trade practices who will happily take their money and never fulfill the promises in the contracts they sign.  Furthermore, Clayton Hyatt and Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling fraud disabled military veterans and senior citizens who do not know how to use the Internet as a vehicle to demonstrate the frauds they have been a victim of...as we have learned through coming into contact with several others in the last year who have also been victims.  My family is currently preparing to sue Hyatt's Roofing & Remodeling and hopefully put an end to the fraud that Clayton Hyatt is perpetuating...so we will update this site as necessary.
