Mat came to my house, and several within our community, soliciting business.  I had been looking for a company to clean my roof as it had some algae on it.  I was also going to start pressure washing my house and driveway soon.  His timing was good.  I agreed to pay to have my roof cleaned, as he had promised the roof would look great, my house cleaned, and the driveway and pathway cleaned.

His speech was if the roof does not look better he would come out and re-treat it again.  This is his expertise, not mine.  I had my roof done in July 2010 and after that company did it the roof looked brand new.  After Mat's company did it the roof looked no different than before he treated it.  The driveway and house looked great and we were please about that.  This was all done in February 2016 and he said they would come back out after the pollen had fallen to rinse off the house at no charge.

The house, roof, and driveway were done late in the day and the gentleman doing the actual job did not finish until dark.  There was really no way for me to inspect the whole outside as it was dark.  I sent Mat an email on February 29th, the day after as I was trying to get an invoice from him to pay, making sure that he would come back if the roof was not to my satisfaction.  Like I said, initially I was happy but after I had a chance to look at the whole house I noticed they missed a few spots which was not a huge deal.  I just sent Mat an email saying can we fix this and re-treat the roof when you come back out in the Spring.  I was still happy and was not demanding it to be done done right now.

I received an automated email from his company saying I should schedule an appointment to have my rinse done.  I immediately set an appointment the day before we were leaving for our family vaction in mid-June.  I also sent him an email reminding him of the roof issue and the issue with some missed spots so he would be prepared.  I received no response to my email and sent a few more with no response.  I received an automatic email from his company on June 19th that Charley would be there there the next day, the 20th, at 12:30.  This email does not say anything about a window of time but says a specific time.  I take a half day to be home when they are there.

That day I tried calling Mat several times to find out where they were.  We were leaving in 12 hours for a week long trip on the west coast.  I then send Mat an email at 4:30 asking him what the deal was as no one from his company had called me saying they were running late, etc. Mat responds at 4:47pm with the following:

Dave these appointments are an all day event.  They are not timed and we can show up from 8 til 7pm.  I've been in a meeting all day and just walked out.  I'll try and figure out where your at on that list.

Well, the confirmation email did not say this was an all day event and no one had told me this was an all day event and a crap shoot.  For the owner to tell me he will try and figure it out is crazy.  Well, he never called me back and never emailed me back. I sent several more emails, and have tried to call him without any response for 7 days after we got back from our trip.  He did not have the courstesy to get in touch with me.

For his sake I hope he does not knock on my door in the winter of 2017 are he will have a problem. What he does is get you to buy into he will make it right but then does not follow up.
