Complaint Review: I-Glo Workshop

I am reporting on another example of how organizations try to take advantage of consumers under the umbrella of a charitable organization...especially in tough economic times.

Several years ago, my wife received a call from an I glo Workshop representative selling light bulbs, claiming that they were for charity. We received the bulbs and paid the invoice promptly. Not much time had passed and she received an additional calls now promoting garbage bags. She agreed again and we then received and paid for them.

We had agreed to only a few more installments of the garbage bags and then we finally started to kindly say no to the orders. There were a couple of times that the bags were sent any way. We promptly marked "return to sender" and that was that.

Most recently, we have received harrassing letters and phone calls from a collection agency claiming that we have received but never paid for an air freshener and cleaning kit.

I proceeded to call the agency to discuss a resolution. They claimed that "their client" (I- Glo) has record of shipment and delivery and that we were responsible for the order. I disagreed on the account that I (or my wife) never ordered the product and most importantly, do not have the product. He insisted that we "should do the right thing" and pay for the product since there is record of delivery.

To summarize:
I Glo Workshop took advantage of a kind person.
I Glo Workshop starts to send previously ordered products.
I Glo Workshop claims to ship something you did not (or never would) order.
I Glo Workshop claims to have record that you received said odd product.
I Glo Workshop shows backbone by sending to collection

All I can say is that they are Scam Artists and I will not answer every unknown caller that shows up on my caller id and make it a number they never should have called.

I will do what ever it takes to bring companies like I Glo Workshops (or what ever they call themselves) to justice.
