I bought my first new computer on Nov. 17,2001.I saw an add in the Best Buy paper for a $300.00 rebate on an H.P.Pavillion with monitor and printer[I told the clerk I didn't even need a printer because I have a new one just like it at home but he said it would be free after my mail in rebate] I purchased
the whole package and recieved several reciepts for mail in rebates. The sales clerk circled the items I would need to fill out and what information I would need to provide and so forth.

My husband hurt his leg at work and needed reconstructive surgery on Nov.25th. He just went back to work this week and I have been busy, but in the mist of it all my husband asked if there was an experation date on our rebate. I panicked and quickly found my reciept to look.

I found a large portion of the receipt contained 'terms and conditions' so I read it and did not see anything requiring 'postmark 30 days from purchase'.

Today is January 25th, and boy are we in need of that rebate.Four kids on workmans comp.for two months through the holidays.I went to mail it in but thought I would call and make sure I had all the info.

Also I wanted to know what the words on the upper portion of my rebate reciept meant'postmark 30 days from purchase. I had a small inkling there was a bit of trickery going on because of the way things were laid out on the form.

Wouldn't you think if there was such an important condition 'EXPERATION DATE'it should be in the terms and condition portion of my document?Costomer service said 'Sorry'you spent 2,000 at our stores but your out of luck. Say goodbye to those tires we need.

Gonna have to pray, I will try to pray for the decievers who rob families of there daily needs. One day they will see justice,I just hope nobody else gets ripped off.

In November my husband and I purchased a computer from Best Buy with a rebate of $100.00 gift card from Best Buy. We were out of town and got delayed because of car problems and did not get home until after the rebate was to be post dated.

The other rebates that came with the purchase had a later expiration date then the gift card rebate. With nothing to lose I sent in the gift card rebate along with the others. Much to my surprise when I opened the mail today there was the gift card.

I sent the rebate in over a month after the expiration and Best Buy still sent me my gift card. Best Buy has gone up a notch in my book. They didn't have to send it and to be honest I did not expect to get it.

It might be worth trying, I sent no letter explaining anything, I just sent in the rebate with the required upcs and such. You have nothing to lose at this point and you may be surprised at the result.

In all honesty, You have little to complain about, you failed to follow the instructions plainly stated on the receipt. If you needed the $300 so much, I would think you would have moved a bit more expedient. There's lots of people that did everything right and not recieve a rebate. I'm sorry, you don't quite fit in that category.
