I'm as psychic as a doorknob but I got a job with Miss Cleo. There was no test or anything I just said I could read cards and I was on.

I was told to keep people on as long as possible. I was told to get as much information (Name, address, email, etc.) from the caller right away. If I was asked about a free call I was supposed to say I knew nothing about it and refer the person to the customer service number.

My supervisor was called "Rose Dawson" and she sent me pages and pages of bullshit that I could use to make up a reading. If a person wanted to talk to Miss Cleo I was to take all their information slowly, keeping them online for as long as possible. At the end I was to tell them that all Miss Cleo's readings end up on television. In truth, she doesn't do readings at all, there is no waiting list.

Employees have to make sure that the average call lasts at least 13 minutes if they log off with a lower average then they can be suspended. I tried doing this but after an hour and a half I couldn't take it. It's just wrong. Then I found out that the company wouldn't pay me because I worked less than two hours.

This company is a complete rip off. I'd advise people to stay away.

Recognizing scam/legitimate psychics

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, April 12, 2003

I have used psychics in my ongoing (unusual)situation-and have found them to be very helpful-when I got a good one. They do advertise for entertainment only-but for $3.00 and up a minute-you do expect a legitimate reading-as they can help.

Here are some tips:

Almost everyone calls a psychic because of a problem they need taken care of. If the psychic tells you you got darkness around and you need to burn a candle-hang-up.

If they talk about positive thinking and claim you brought these problems on yourself by your on thoughts-hang-up.

Have your questions prepared. For the first question choose one that can not be left up to common sense.

refrain from yes or no questions-they are to easily guessed at.

Psychics cannot answer questions that start with "if." If I do this, will this happen? You can ask for suggestions-and be careful about generals-or questions you could have figured out yourself.

Do not tell the psychic to much-they are to tell you.

I have found it much more beneficial to ask about present things-and that gives me a good indication of how things are going.

Do not waste your money on questions you know the answer to. Such as "does he love me"? If you have to ask, chances are the answer is not what you want hear-you know when another person loves you. If the psychic says yes, and you are getting one ten minute phone call once a week-then that person in question is answering you for free. You can ask where is the relationship going to be in the future.
