Complaint Review: IBC Bank

I planned to take a trip to Mexico in early September, I walked into an IBC bank located at 5615 Kirby Dr. Houston, TX 77005. I exchanged $649 USD into Mexican currency, I was given 8,120 Mexican pesos. The problem is that in those 8,120 pesos that were given to me there was one 1,000 peso note (bill) that is no longer in circulation in Mexico. I found this out while in Mexico attempting to use this bill and it was rejected.

I brought the bill back to the brank and spoke with assistant manager Ian Foster where he told me that there was no way to prove that they gave me that bill and so there is nothing that they can do about it anymore. I entrusted in this bank to ensure note or bills no longer in circulation will not be treated as if they were and they failed me, I lost about 100 dollars due to this bank's error and they basically are telling me "too bad".

To add insult to injury the assistant managers secretary called me back and told me to take it to another exchange bank and that they WILL take it, and when I asked why IBC would not take it if others would she just said "well we just don’t want to". I should add that when I walked into the branch I pointed out to the assistant manager who the bank teller was that provided that note/bill to me, and in fact the bank teller remembered giving me a 1,000 peso note/bill but he just could not verify that it was that exact one.

My understanding is that there are no other 1,000 notes/bills anymore at least very hard to come across due to the limited amount that were made. I asked to video to be reviewed but management would not agree firmly on that.
