I subscribed to deluxepass.com and their billing company is ibillcs.com after a few months of membership I decided to cut down on my monthly bills so I attempted to cancel my membership.

I first tried to cancel online but it said that it couldnt find my credit card number (probably a default excuse to help them against members discontinuing their memberships) So I called them on the phone. After 45 minutes on hold I got through to them. He said sure no problem I'm refunding the charges right now and canceling the account. (notice how easily he could look me up by my card number) and in a few hours I would be recieving an email that would document the cancelling the subscription. A few days later I looked on my credit card charges online and saw that it was refunded and RECHARGED!!! WTF is that?!?!

I called them again and asked them to fix it and refund the charges that they recharged me and the charges that they charged me again after cancelling my account for another months access. They said I could cancel my account and gave me the confirmong email while I waited but said it was up to deluxepass.com to refund the charges.

I contacted support and this is the following email:

If the subscription had been cancelled.. your account would have been closed. There is no way for me to determine when a login was last used, just that it is still active.

Subject: My subscription

My subscription id is: 1XXXXXXXX1

I originally canceled my subscription back in June and since then I have been billed repeatedly since then.

You can check your activity log to verify that the service has not been used. Please promptly return funds that were charged without my permission. Last time I called IBILLCS.COM *DELUXE , 800-307-3558 , FL I spoke with Paula, and she cancelled my account for a SECOND TIME. I never gave authorization to bill me any more since June.

Best regards,

me

Anyone who knows anything about web developing knows that this guy is full of crap and just wanting you to give up so he can keep your hard earned money to buy a new porsche or whatever. There is ALWAYS some system running that tracks usage on a membership type page otherwise they would only have 2-3 customers because they would send out massive emails to their budies with their usernames and passwords to access the site. I worked for an Internet billing company and WROTE THE CODE TO DO SO. Different IP addresses from different ISP's, times accessed and frequency of use ARE ALL LOGGED. If anything looks suspicious I can look it up in a log file and see if someone accessed the information and create guesstimations based apon navigation traffic to see if, when and how much information was accessed or downloaded. and then say no way buddy you gave out your username and password to lets see... looks like 7 of your friends, one from A, B, C, and 3 from D or a dialup user bla bla bla... And we will cancel your account and keep your money. This was 5 years ago, so I AM SURE that someone else has written newer and improved code to provide even more information that what mine did.

I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and they told me to try calling ibill.com again and if that didnt work that they would send me out a form to dispute it on. I called again today to ibill.com and explained everything to Amy R. and after explaining everything above her supervisor said that they wanted a copy of the email that I pasted above and decided that it would be in their best interest to refund my money, but it seems like only after you rant and rave that you are being screwed by someone. She again said that she was sory that I had to go through everything and that I would recieve another email confirming my refund in a few hours... Hmmm this sounds familiar, so I said, "could you send me comething now to refer to later and I'll wait to recieve it" so after a few more minutes I recieved the following email:

thank you for contacting iBill, the global leader in secure internet payments. I am writing to answer your concerns regarding the charge on your account.

Please accept this email as confirmation that your subscription has been canceled. Your account will not be charged again for this subscription. In addition, iBill has issued a credit to your account as indicated below:

Transaction 1XXXXXXXX1 was refunded in the amount of $XX.XX.

Although your financial institution will receive notification of this credit within 10-15 business days, it may take up to two full billing cycles for the credit to appear on your monthly statement, depends on your statement cycle.

I hope I have addressed all of your concerns. If I can be of any further assistance, please use the "reply" button on your email program to ensure the entire text of the original message is included. This will allow me to address all of your questions.

I also invite you to visit iBill online at www.ibillcs.com http://www.ibillcs.com, where you can perform most customer service functions including changing your credit card number, canceling your membership, and updating your email address.

Sincerely,

Thanks Amy :)

I hope that this time all of my concerns are satisfied and that I get my money back. But all of this should have never occured. There should be legal punishments to companies who lie about things such as that they cant see you walk in their door and at what time (IP address and timestamps) I hope that those companies go bankrupt and their spouses leave them after their Mercades has been repossesed after being thrown out of their own house, and force them to pay child support for 18 years, then maybe they will think twice about stealing peoples money to buy things.

people are getting jipped out of their money

#2Consumer Suggestion

I'm not sure if it illegal or not so I will keep my ID secret, but I do have passwords for deluxepass that expire every so often. It is claimed that I am a member at the site. I got these passwords from one of my friends. As I can see people are getting jipped out of their money, especially when other people are allowed to use their account. I thought i would let you know.
