ICS Merrill - EMSI Management Services EMSI Bad for Investigators and clients , Internet
As you can tell from reading other reports ICS was a decent company that went to s**t. I'm not sure if they just got too big, or if they stopped focusing on investigations and got too busy figuring out how to pinch pennies.
First off, all of their investigators are graded by their billing effeciancy rating. Which is how many hours were billed to the client. This is a horrible way to grade investigators.
Second, they figure out everyway possable to cheat investigators out of their pay. On SIU cases they only pay you travel pay at the surveillance rate. They find ways to cheat you out of your vehicle allowance and any overtime. Also, they don't pay you for the first and last hour of travel time (WTF) So if you drive an hour to work a travelers case and you don't see the claimant after 3 hours of surveillance. You have to break off. You work (5) hours and only get paid for (3)!
They also cut back on support staff in 2008-2009. They have a few case managers handling hundreds of investigators. When these managers quit they are replaced by less experianced case managers. This has been going on for YEARS now.
When they hire you they promise you the moon but once you start you'll see that your employment offer letter isn't work the paper that it's printed on. Expect to work 1-2 days a week. (Which voids your benefits and makes you part time) And if you expect to EVER get a raise. Think again!
