Complaint Review: Idéal Électroménager

I bought a stainless steel refrigerator from this store out of their Montreal location at the beginning of the summer... I was informed by one of the owners that I would have a three month warranty on the appliance. The refrigerator was delivered a few days later. 

Upon reception, I noticed that a screw was missing on top of the fridge and this screw is one of two screws that hold the door! Three weeks into having the refrigerator, I noticed that the cooling performance varied from day to day. Certain days the refrigerator worked fine and on other days I had to put the fridge on max in order to keep my food cool...

I moved to a new condo closer to the Ottawa/Gatineau area where they also have a location listed at 42 Gréber Gatineau, Québec. The move was completed by professionals and everything went very well! Ever since I got to this new condo, the refrigerator has been barely cooling and the noise it makes is very annoying.

I decided to call the company and let them know that the refrigerator has been problematic since day one. I then told the owner on the phone that I now lived closer to his Gatineau, Québec location and he rudely interrupted me and said ''who was your moving company''? ''Well it was their fault, they damaged the refrigerator, take it up with them''? I then asked him if this was the type of company they were? They offer one thing and then find any cop out to walk away from their claims? The line remained silent... And then a hang up!!

From my perspective, I agree that the moving company may have damaged the refrigerator without my knowledge. I am willing to believe that the problems may not be associated to the store who sold the refrigerator. In fact, I am willing to consider all possibilities that I have thought of or that could be presented to me as a cause for the diminished performance...

What I will not accept though, is for that decision or conclusion to be drawn without a technician coming out to assess what may be wrong with the appliance! The simple fact that the owner was unwilling to aid me in finding a satisfactory conclusion or help my situation displays clearly the type of company they are when it comes to post sales service.

They will claim to be the lowest priced and claim their warranty but may not hold true when the time comes to claim! I wish them all the best in their future endeavors and truly hope I was the only one to fall victim of their advertised claims!

 

Pour ceux qui parle Français... Je vous dis simplement, de ne pas faire affaire avec Idéal Électroménager car ils ne conforment pas à leur garantie et il y a plusieurs magasin qui offre un service similaire dans leur région d'affaire pour les mêmes prix!! 

Les excuses pour éviter d'honoré une garantie sans qu'un technicien de service se présente chez vous est un service abominable et cette compagnie ne mérite pas d'obtenir l'argent des citoyens qui travaillent fort pour l'avoir...
