These people are outright criminals!!!   I discovered mysterious debits to my bank account - one in the amount of 33.98 and two in the amount of 17.95 - and traced to two companies, both of whom share the same business address, and both of whom claim to be "identity theft protection services" (highly ironic!!) I called the number for the first and was told rather rudely that I needed to go to their web site and request a "refund"...they claim I "requested their services" during an online loan application, which is a complete lie.  The agent on the phone -- a woman with a foreign accent who said her name was "Sam White" -- refused to give the company name and claimed there were no supervisors I could speak to; she only gave me the street address, which appears to be a UPS mailbox site.  Their website seems accustomed to complaints of my nature, since the front page offers the option "refund for unknown charge". These companies apparently share the same M.O.: steal money from people's accounts, and hope that a percentage will either not notice or not go to the trouble of investigating/complaining. I reported to my state's Atty General's office and will be contacting the Phoenix police department tomorrow, since no refunds -- neither for the fraudulent charges nor for my bank fees -- seem forthcoming.  A class action suit would be in order, since I have seen countless identical complaints to mine about this situation!!
