I searched payday loans via yahoo.com and were notified by several companies stating that I was pre-approved for a certain amount of money.  I clicked on of the lender sites and several pop-up screens appeared. While trying to click out of all of the simultaneously; I accidentally clicked on (((Redacted)))(something like that).

Well, I went ahead and started the process to see if I would be approved for $300.00. I completed the form which asked for my personal information, like residency and employer info.  The next step was banking information, which I completed. I was proceeded to the bottom of the screen and clicked submit.  Needless to say my application was denied.

The very next day I check my bank account online and guess what!!?? My acct is -$33.98. YES!! Apparently, this company debited my acct, using an electric check, for a service that they claim I knowingly agreed to.  A bold face LIE!  The service is for ID Protection Services.

I contacted the company using the customer service number provided on the front of the check. The foreign rep that can't speak a bit of correct English, informed that somewhere on the application it was printed that I would be enrolled in their service whether approved or not. I disputed her( or him) and was informed to cancel my subscription and request a refund. Of course, I immediately followed the instructions. I was directed to a website, www.idtheftrefund.com, which asked me serveral questions like e-mail address, last 4-digits of SS #, and reason for cancellation/refund.

I answered all the questions. Three days later I checked my bank account online and the money wasn't credited yet. I called the telephone # back. This time I was directed to another website, www.idtheftrefundstatus.com, to check the status of my refund request, and get this in "real-time". lol

I went to that website and entered my e-mail address and last 4-digits of SS#. Now there's a screen that claims that they sent a letter via email requesting additional information. I went immediately to my email. NO letter. So I logged in to the idtheftrefundstatus page and answered the questions from there.

Three days after that the money still hadn't been credited to my account. So I called and spoke w/another foreigner that stated that I knowingly and willingly enrolled in their service and my refund request was denied.

Get this, I contacted my bank to file a complaint and to see if there is anything they could do. The bank stated that because 'idtheft' had access to my account information that gave them permission to debit the money. The bank rep stated that there's nothing they could do.  The bank rep did advise me to cancel the service(which I've already done).

PLEASE don't apply for any loans via the internet!!!!!!!  Just go to one of your local title loan or payday loan companies in your neighborhood or surrounding areas.
