I got up to go to work and did not have a car. I do not owe money on the car so I knew it was stolen or towed. We called the towing company they reported they did not have it.

I called the apartment complex and they called the towing company because they said they were having a lot of trouble with them towing cars. They called the towing company and they said they did not have the car.

My roommates car was taken a week later and when she went to pick it up she saw my car. They kept telling they did not have the car. The apartment complex told me it was illegally towed and they did not notify the apartment complex they had towed it. The apartment compelx told me they were going to get my car back for me. I called today which has been 2 weeks and they said I have to file a suit against them because they will not cooperate with them.

Wow these guys sound like some real ambulance chasers....   ...Setting up a camera is that like (entrapment) ???  and then advertising how to contact them....   I think maybe a rip off report should be filled on them...

just my two cents..

If you think that is your only requirement, you are stupid. First, it is the responsibility of the VSF (Vehicle Storage Facility) to report the vehicle to auto dealers.

If you tow a vehicle off a property where you have NO license, it is auto theft.

Here are the links for Ideal's TDLR info...

Enter 005746079C in the  TDLR Number field

Here is the link to Ideal Towing's parent company MAKANSAM.

Here is the link to file a complaint with TDLR so they will fine Ideal for making a bad tow and possibly revoke their license:

Hope this helps

FYI... Don't forget that Ideal Towing has had some bad press over the last couple of years... Towing cars at Texas City Funfest, and when one of their drivers ran over a kid.

We as parking lot enforcement company, are only obligated to notify the Police Department when we tow a vehicle that is in violation.  We are not obligated to inform the Apartment Complex.  These are also the rules as stated with the Texas Department Of Licensing And Regulations (TDLR).

Tow Hearings

#6Consumer Suggestion

Tue, January 12, 2010

File for a tow hearing. Ask for treble damages when you make the filing. You MUST ask for the damages when you make the filing, otherwise the judge cannot award the amount. When you win, you will receive the actual damages (Tow fee and Storage), plus 3 times that amount for punitive damages.

Also, File a report with TXDOT. They will fine Ideal for making the bad tow and posibly revoke their license.

Hope this helps.

Also, their license is still active... 005746079C

License Suspended

I work for an attorney. I had a camera set up outside my apartment and captured a video of this company dropping a car three times, slamming the towed car into another vehicle twice, and leaving the scene without making an accident report. In Texas this is FSGI (Failure to Stop and Give Information), a misdemeanor. I did research on the company and thier TDLR license to tow has been suspended since 2/26/2009. You need to request a tow hearing within 14 days. If you would like the video or I can help please email me at(((Redacted)))

I hope this helps!
