I signed up for ifriends having read their 'Small Print' and accepted the $49 charge which they explained.I did not agree to any further charges, which have been debited from my card. They have taken 13.95 and I urge any body to aviod their site, and all links to or from it like the plauge.

The services that are available for 'Free' are nothing more than an index of over priced web cams mainly from other companies.

The services are declared to encour no hidden charges but they did not disclose any charges to me, I feel that this may be ilegal, and if not it is imorral.

Since becoming aware of the above RipOffReport complaint, we have investigated the issue and have located Alan's accounts. Alan had in fact created two accounts within a one-week period. Shortly after he posted the above complaint, he cancelled one of the accounts, using our online cancellation utility. The other account remained active because Alan did not cancel it. We have, of course, now cancelled this second account and credited all of the charges to Alan's account.

The scenario presented in Alan's report is not one that could have occurred on our web site. iFriends does not offer any memberships with a $49 charge. The standard iFriends membership is free, and customers have the ability to access premium services, for which there may be a charge. All prices and terms on our service are clearly and conspicuously disclosed, including use of prominent icons and multiple click-throughs, in any instance in which a customer will incur charges.

Alan also mentioned that he saw an index of webcams that linked to other services. Other online entertainment companies may maintain web pages of this sort; however, we do not. We are a completely integrated service and do not have any webcams from outside companies or services. This statement by Alan indicates that he may have signed up for an account with another company and may be confusing that account with his iFriends membership.

Alan states that he was billed 13.95. No charge of that amount has been charged to his account. We offer several different types of memberships. While the standard iFriends membership carries no charge, when Alan created his two accounts, he selected a premium membership which does carry a charge. No customer can ever incur charges, such as the ones specified in Alan's complaint, without advance disclosure of such charges and numerous multiple click-throughs by the customer to indicate his acknowledgement and affirmative consent to such charges. Our service has never charged, and will never charge, any customer without first obtaining the customer's affirmative consent. All premium, fee-based areas are clearly marked as such, and can only be accessed after the customer has demonstrated his wish to access these areas and his affirmative consent to the charges. A link to our telephone and email contact information is provided on each page of the iFriends website. Additionally, our toll-free number appears next to every charge on a customer's credit card statement.

It is clear that Alan has questions about the charges that have posted to his account. Unfortunately, since Alan chose not to contact us directly, we had no knowledge of his dissatisfaction with the iFriends service. Our Customer Service Center is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be reached toll-free from the UK by dialing 00-800-4374-3637. Alan has requested that we not contact him regarding his complaint, and we will honor his request. However, we strongly urge Alan to contact us directly so that we may resolve this issue to his complete satisfaction.

Our company has a spotless 11-year-record with all of the leading consumer protection agencies, and we are an industry leader in the development of model online consumer best practices. Every one of our web services is verified by TRUSTe to be on its sealholder list of "the most trustworthy online businesses." In addition, our "Customer is Always Right" policy ensures that we take action sufficient to obtain each customer's complete satisfaction, including making refunds for any charges which a customer has incurred but disputes. Again, we strongly encourage Alan to contact us so that we can resolve his concerns to his satisfaction.

WPI*Ifriends to many rip offs to be anything but a scam

I though untill I read some of the many reports on this site that I had been a little unlucky, afterall they are listed as number 1134 in the current most hit web site table.

There has to be an end and I call for it to stop. My ?13.95 times the number of reports on this site adds up to thousands off POUNDS (GBP) scamed by an unscrupleus business calling itself a quality servie.

I intend to partision web search engines to block this company and all of it's imorral activities.

I don't care about my money, so long as they are stopped from scamming in the future.
