Complaint Review: IGIA

On November 7, 2005 I went to their website for Singer Windstorm vacuums and placed an order for one. When I finished it displayed my order but listed that I had ordered 2 windstorms and the total was 196.17. I knew that they had offered my the chance to buy a second machine but I didn't think I had taken that choice. So, I went back into the website to just review what was there. I NEVER PLACED ANY ORDER THIS TIME. However, later in my email I found an email for ordering 2 machines at a total of 196.17. And a second email thanking me for another order for another vacuum at 78.35. I now had 3 vacuums on order.

I immediately started calling the customer service number listed on the orders. For two weeks I called that number but got no further than listening to music. Each time a message would say how the customer reps were very busy.

Finally, after never getting past the music I decided to follow the recorded message suggestion and email customer service. Over the next few weeks I sent several emails. Only one got a response. That one response said a customer rep would contact me within 24 hours. That email was received Nov 25, 2005. As of today, Jan 3, 2006 I have never heard from anyone at that company, nor have I ever received any vacuums.

I then noticed that on my credit card statement there was a different 800 number listed for the company than the one I had been calling from the order information. So, I thought maybe there had just been a typo. For a week I called this new number and all I ever got was busy signals.

Today I dug up my credit card statement and wrote them a leter explaining the situation and asking them to remove these charges from my account. Hopefully, CITI is more responsible than this rip off company.
