Back in November of 2005, I saw an ad on tv for the Windstorm Vacuum. I called and ordered the vacuum (buy one get one free). I paid for speedy shipment (3 days). When I didn't receive the item, I called the company and they said it would be another week. When a week passed and I still didin't receive my order, I called to cancel the order. They said I would have my refund in 2 weeks. I regret that I paid with a visa/debit card.

I have been calling the company since December of 2005 and each time they tell me 2 weeks.

I contacted the NY BBB and filed a report. The NY BBB said that I would have my refund in 2 weeks. I have since contacted the NY BBB and filed 3 more complaints.

I received a call this morning from the NY BBB whom I feel did not do their job from the initial onset of this complaint. They informed me that Igia / Tactia is now in bankruptcy and out of business.

For some reason, I find this not to be the fact. I think that this company is now advertising under a new name to pull the same scam that they have been pulling for years.

They have $514.00 of my money plus the interest they have collected on it. I think that there should be further investigation into this company. I have a strong feeling that they know how to get around the law and continue to pull the same unscrupulous business scams around the country.

As I look further into this, I have found hundreds and hundreds of stories that are the exact duplicate of mine.

I can't see how a company can be in bankruptcy or out of business after collecting probably millions of dollars without supplying a product. This was free money that they received from unknowing consumers.

I would bet money that they know how to get around the laws and continue to do this kind of business under alias names.

This is not only a scam but illegal. To take peoples hard earned money knowing that they were not going to send the product or a refund.

I have also found that the NY BBB did not follow up or do their job.

I am now out of work and I'm pounding the pavement to find a new job and I cannot tell you how angry this makes me.

Needless to say, I have never and will never order another product that is advertised on tv because it is quite clear that if they can advertise on dozens of channels and not get caught for many years, that the networks did not do their homework on the companies that they had advertising infommercials on them.
